This holiday season the Basic Tv production "The Hunt For The Christmas Scoundrel" was once again able to bring the christmas spirit into many homes, when Tv2 decided to pick it up for a holiday rerun. As it turns out the story of the christmas scoundrell will not only be a tradition in thematic terms, but aslo possibly on television.

On Sunday, December 14th, the ambissious Basic tv –documentary "Top Gun – Mission Norway" aired on tv2. The film follows the best of the best within the european air force F16 –community, and the challenges they face during the high–tension FWIT course. The lenghty training programme is hosted by the Royal Netherlands Air Force and is designed to push the limits of it's participants.

The film was later followed by VGtv's online meeting with the pilots, that went on for a couple of hours. Top Gun premiered in front of 350.000 viewers for it's first half hour run, and 361.000 for the last part.

The sucsessful and highly anticipated "Captain Sabertooth and the Enchanted Island" is now within an arms length, as it is released to the public on dvd. The mega –live production was filmed earlier in July, and was greeted by fans and families all across the country.

Shooting for the upcoming Captein Sabertooth dvd started today. The play, titled "Captain Sabertooth and the Enchanted Island", created by Terje Formoe, has already recieved great feedback, and is part of a saga that is just as widely known as it is acclaimed by critics.

This is the fourth Sabertooth –play Basic Tv's Gard Aleksander Andreasen has produced.

Earlier last week the Basic TV production "Marcus and the Eagle" was sold to Finlands leading broadcasting company, YLE. YLE is the operator of four television channels, and six radio channels within Finland alone, and is the winner of several international television awards.

The European Independent Film Festival 2008 had a line up of 103 films, all contributing in 11 different categories. The Screenings took place in the Grand Auditorium of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France between March 14th and 16th.

During the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Greece, the Basic TV production Dishonored was screened in front of an impressively fully packed theater for two nights in a row. The Festival has a nine year old history and lasts for nine days. Dishonored tells the important story of Mukhtar Mai and her struggle for justice in her home country.

The Basic TV production Marcus and the Eagle was last week sold to a Dutch television network, thus expanding the range of the release further. Marcus and the Eagle is already sold to Sweden and Denmark, and expected to air sometime during this year.

The Miniseries "Marcus and the Eagle" had it's broadcast debut today on the Norwegian television channel NRK Super. The story evolves around twelve year old Marcus and his friend fighting to save the eagle in their local community. "Marcus and the Eagle" is divided into two episodes, with the second hitting television tomorrow at 09:35.

The TV documentary "Dishonored" has been chosen to represent Norway at the Thessaloniki film festival.

–This is very delightful and  well–earned by the producers of this hugely impactful film, Bodil Cold Ravnkilde says, documentary consultent of Norsk Filmfond.

Mukthar Mai is a pakistanian woman who was sentenced to be raped by a local –tribal council, which started a battle for womens rights in Pakistan that, as of today, still persists. Basic Tv production has followed her through a long period of time, and the film shows her fight towards international acceptance.

The television adaption of the successful Christmas musical "The hunt for the Christmas Scoundrel" will be shown on TV2 Norway on Christmas day at 7.30 PM.

The feature on the Norwegian singer Sigvart Dagsland has been rescheduled for screening on TV2, Norway. The film, now edited in two installments, will be shown on december 6th at 8.30 PM, followed by a specially filmed concert on december 22nd at 2 PM. Both installments featuring hitherto unseen concert–footage.

Forbidden Future, the documentary featuring artists and musicians in present day Iran will be screened at the upcoming Red Rock film festival in Utah. The screenings are set for Saturday October 20th at 9.30 AM at St.George, UT and on Friday november 2nd at 12.30 PM at Springdale UT.

The release of the new album by Norwegian singer Sigvart Dagsland is imminent. TV2 in Norway have already slotted the Basic TV documentary for screening on October 14th, but watch this space for news on the availability of clips, trailers and interviews in broadcast quality.

Forbidden Future, Basic TVs thought provoking documentary from Iran is now slotted for broadcasting. The film featuring new insight into the lives of Iranian youths and young adults, will be shown on NRK2 on tuesday, September 18th at 8.20 PM. Don't miss it.

A team from Basic TV has spent the spring and summer following Norwegian singer Sigvart Dagsland in his quest for the ultimate sound. Dagsland is preparing a new album scheduled for late September release, and this feature telling his story in a very personal way is slotted for broadcast on TV2 in Norway on October 14th. Trailer and extensive information will be added shortly in the projects section.

Marcus & the White Tailed Eagle is now in post production, with completion scheduled for early December. The two episodes shot this summer are scheduled for the spring season on NRK. Check back for trailer in a few weeks time.

Post production on the Christmas tale of the hunt for the Christmas scoundrel is now complete. The television adaption of the highly successful stage production of the story of Santa's lazy elf is slotted for a December screening on Norwegian TV2. Check back shortly for a trailer added to the production information.

Shooting of episodes 1 and 2 of Marcus & The White Tailed Eagle commenced on June 1st in gorgeous weather in Flatanger. The crew report to be happy with the resulting footage, and that most importantly they're on schedule. Pictures will be added shortly to the project.

Mukhtar Mai, the protagonist of the Basic TV documentary, Dishonored has arrived in Norway. There have been constructive meetings with NORAD and Norwegian Chruch Aid who have both pledged financial support for projects run by Ms.Mais organization.

Later today Mukhtar Mai is due for a meeting with the Norwegian foreign ministry.

The visit has generated a lot of media interest and Mukhtar has conducted a long string of interviews.

Dishonored, the documentary chronicling the plight of the Pakistani rural woman, Mukhtar Mai who was sentenced to multiple rapes by her village elders will be ready and in distribution on April 14th. Test screenings have so far yielded exclusively positive responses.

Basic TVs compelling film from the unseen parts of Iranian society is now completed and in distribution. The first screening contracts are already finalised, and Australians will be among the first to see what Iranian youth are really up to.

Our team is just back from two weeks of successful shooting in Pakistan, and the project is now in it's final editing stage. The project is reported to be on schedule, and everyone involved is working hard to meet the March.8 (International Women's day) deadline. Mukhtar Mai has expressed an interest in coming to Norway for the premiere screening of the production.
