about basicTV

Basic TV was founded by Styrk Jansen in late 1998. His aim being the establishing of a documentary production company selling and distributing finished product worldwide.

In 2004 he was joined by Producer and Director Gard A .Andreassen as equal partner. This meant the company was at a stage where it could develop a more long term business plan, increasing the amount of projects handled.

The company was bought by the Norwegian media corporation A–pressen (www.apressen.no) at the tail–end of 2005. This provided the basis for the inception of a drama department. This is a new field for us, and the first projects entered their developing stages in 2006.

A story worth telling is the basis for any Basic TV production, and we are willing to go to great lengths to get the stories we believe in. Additionally, because we believe that telling a story well requires artistic as well as craftsman–skills we place great emphasis in working with the finest practitioners of our trade available – cameramen, directors, editors, soundmen or journalists. They all form an integral part of the finished Basic TV production. You can learn more about some of them in the people–section.

Basic TV is a production company, and as such we today provide feature films or television productions. That notwithstanding we are also developing new projects where part of the story is web–based or told via your cell–phone, in each case as seen fit.

Basic TV utilises the services of established distribution companies in bringing our product to the different markets.
